The Soul of a Warrior (SOW) Awards Gala, founded in 2015, honours the extraordinary individuals and frontline workers who work tirelessly to support survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the GTA. Professionals such as counsellors, advocates, legal and family support workers, and more that support survivors and work to create safer and equitable communities. SOW Awards Gala is an evening of elegance, inspiration, and collective action that brings together community leaders, advocates, and supporters to recognize the invaluable contributions of frontline staff across the Greater Toronto Area.
The gala serves as a call to action, raising funds for WomanACT’s mission to drive systemic change through research, education, and advocacy, ultimately fostering a safer and more equitable society. Funds raised during the event directly support WomanACT’s mission to create systemic change through research, education, and advocacy. These efforts inform policies, raise awareness, and empower survivors, ensuring a safer and more equitable society for all.
We invite you to support this celebration by purchasing a ticket or becoming a sponsor for our upcoming Soul of a Warrior Gala awards and to partake in a night of celebration, recognition, and collective action.

Alison Albright
Children’s Champion Award Winner
Alison is transforming how child and youth victim-survivors navigate the criminal justice system. Her work ensures young survivors of violence are not just supported but truly seen, heard, and empowered.
From supporting children and youth with courtroom preparation to long-term healing, Alison fills critical gaps with trauma-informed, child-centered care. At Victim Services Toronto, she is leading the development of Canada’s first specialized post-court therapy program for young survivors, recognizing that testifying in court can be another layer of trauma.

Her unwavering commitment ensures that no child has to walk the justice system alone and that healing is always within reach.
