WomanACT has been providing coordination, planning, and community mobilization across Canada, since 1991. Today, we are a charitable organization with a membership of organizations and individuals working to end violence against women through system change.

Strategic Plan
WomanACT envisions a world created with women, girls, and gender-diverse people, free from violence, and works across sectors through research, education, and advocacy to advance systems change. Our work is grounded in gender equity, inclusion, partnership, learning, innovation, transparency, and accountability, bringing together evidence and lived experience. We continue to build on these commitments to deepen partnerships, strengthen sustainability, and drive meaningful change.
Our Approach
WomanACT grounds its work in gender equity, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive frameworks, recognizing the intersecting systems that shape gender-based violence. Across research, policy, education, and leadership, we centre survivors and value lived experience alongside research, community, and service-provider expertise. We create meaningful opportunities for women and gender-diverse people with lived experience of GBV to shape our priorities and advance systems change.
